Christmas is a time of wonderful stories. This gift book presents Christmas fables that are based on the well-known birth story from the Bible. This first volume focuses on Nativity myths. In the early to mid-eighteen hundreds, the Transcendentalist Movement grew up in New England. The work of Emerson and Thoreau are most readily connected with the movement, but others too contributed to the development of an individualized approach to religion and spirituality. The work of William Ellery Channing, George Ripley, Very Jones, Christopher P. Cranch, Orestes A. Brownson, Sampson Reed, Theodore Parker, Bronson Alcott, and Elizabeth Palmer Peabody created a spiritual movement that fueled the revival that birthed New Thought Christianity. Three theological concepts or threads arise in the writings of these transcendentalist that braided together become the foundation of New Thought Christianity.

The haiku poems in this book follow an English language style rather than the strict Japanese tradition. The degree to which the English haiku differs from the Japanese tradition varies greatly. Many English haiku poems may be restricted to nature based or seasonal themes. The short, concise construction is a nod to the Japanese tradition. One way to define short and concise is that the poem can be spoke in one breath. The definitions of this genre vary and continue to be disputed. Disputed definitions cannot take away the appreciation of haiku and English language haiku and may encourage readers to become poets. May you read with joy and write with abandon.
